Causes Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)

Have you ever experienced the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)? BSOD when interpreted into the Indonesian language means the Blue Screen of Death. While understanding the notification or error messages that appear on the Microsoft Windows operating system when there is a system failure that can not be repaired.

There are many factors that could cause the BSOD. According to the experience as well as a collection of things can I get are:

1. Setting hard drive mode in the BIOS, although trivial but this is often a big problem really is not difficult to solve this problem, we just change the mode from AHCI or SATA hard drive (depending on the type of bios) to be compatible or IDE (depending on the type of bios as well)

2. CD windows that do not support the SATA or does not have SATA drivers, this can be solved by changing or adding the SATA drivers on our windows installer, one of them by running the software nlite.

3. RAM / memory problems, RAM problems are often the cause of blue screen on windows installation process, the easiest way to solve this problem is to replace the RAM so that the installation process went smoothly, or take one of the existing memory if permasalahanya crashing in of RAM.

4. Hard drive problems

5. Power supply is not providing a stable electricity supply or drop, Better to replace the power supply so that other components are not problematic.

6. Motherboard is problematic.

7. and other factors ...

Similarly, things I could share for this article.

All About Spyware Removal

by: michaelhenderson

A boon to one may be the curse of another!
And same is the case with web programs. In a bid to create make web surfing smoother, some companies have created what is termed as ‘Spy ware’

Blank space on the web pages, sentences with missing words, words highlighted in yellow and bronze, links that don’t lead anywhere... These are all consequences of the Spy ware on the system.

Spyware is computer software that is installed scrumptiously on a computer to intercept or take partial control over the user's interaction with the computer, without the user's informed consent.

How It Is InstalledThe Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall install an Ad Blocking feature on the computer. There is no specific way to identify an ad from a regular image, so the software blocks whatever seemingly looks like an advertisement. It also blocks out certain picture sizes that are commonly used by ads. This problem can be fixed though! The Ad Blocking in Norton Internet Security just needs to be disabled. Apart from Norton, Zone Alarm, Symantec, F-Prot AntiVirus and Webwasher also offers to block out advertisements and popup provided you choose that option.

What It DoesOther spyware programs that interfere web viewing are Gator/GAIN, Hotbar, MySearch, etc. These programs and toolbars fill in forms and keep track of all the user passwords but putting on all that information at risk. These programs run in the background simultaneously and use up system resources. This result in the slowdown of the system causes the browser to crash. They also add icons to the desktop, change browser settings and home page and block.Through all this they collect user information about applications, Internet access records and visited websites. Based on these information, they squeeze in appropriate pop-up advertisements or unsolicited E-mails. For website owners they spell danger though by changing the affiliate code on any advertising to their code.

The spyware can enter the system through a variety of sources. By sharing music files or photos with other users through sharing sites or by downloading freeware applications one is at risk of getting infected with spyware. It can download with the most inane programs or just by clicking on a wrong menu choice.

Tips To Get Rid Of SpywareBut there are ways to prevent such soft wares from being downloaded without your consent. From the Internet Toolbar, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. And uncheck all the "Enable Install On Demand...." options.

Click on your start button and select the "settings" options. Click on it and open the 'Control Panel' and click on 'Add/Remove Programs'. Find the spyware in the list of programs and highlight it.Now click 'Change/Remove' and follow the prompts to uninstall it.

The spyware-supported applications will fail to work after being removed. They should also be uninstalled as well.

After all this a spyware utility program should be run to ensure that everything has been removed. Softwares like Spyblaster may help prevent their further download in future. And for services like filling up forms or saving passwords or downloading music, safer alternatives, like Safer- Networking, Spyware Info, Roboform, and Google can be used.

At the end of the whole process, a scandisk and a defrag should be run and the registry cleaned up with the help of EasyCleaner.

Firewall

For those of you who are used to connect to the internet, may have often heard the term firewall. Do you know what is Firewall means?

A firewall is a system or device which allows network traffic that is considered safe to go through and prevent network traffic that is not safe. In general, a firewall is implemented in a dedicated machine, which runs on the gate (gateway) between local networks , etc. Beside network, it is also used to control access to anyone who has access to a private network from outside parties.

Firewalls are divided into two types, namely:

1. Personal Firewall: Personal Firewall designed to protect a computer connected to the network from unwanted access. This type of firewall lately turned into a collection of programs that aim to secure the computer in total, with the addition of several additional security features - such a protection device against viruses, anti-spyware, anti-spam, and more. Today there are some other firewall product comes with interference detection function network security (Intrusion Detection System), for example: Microsoft Windows Firewall (which has been integrated into the operating system Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1), Symantec Norton Personal Firewall, and others. Personal Firewall is generally only has two main features, namely Packet Filter Firewall and Stateful Firewall.

2. Network Firewall: Network firewall designed to protect the entire network from various attacks. Generally found in two forms, namely a dedicated device or as an installed software in a server. Examples of this firewall is the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server), Cisco PIX, IPTables in the operating system GNU / Linux, and sunscreen of Sun Microsystems, Inc.. that create a package in the Solaris operating system. Network firewalls generally have several key features, which is owned by other than personal firewall (packet filter firewall and stateful firewall), Circuit Level Gateway, Application Level Gateway, and also NAT Firewall. Network firewalls are generally transparent (not visible) from the users and uses routing technology to determine which package is allowed, and where the package will be rejected

Gaming addiction is fairly difficult to recognize

It is truly hard to identify the real reason to recognize what is obsession and how it is brought about. Many people are suffering from gaming addiction and it is an actual ground to pry out the true reason for it. The emotional and the intellectual devotion with some things and a necessity of something generated from inner side make the individual to completely depend on the game and to do anything to capture that taste of the extreme limit.

The basic reason for addiction is something above limit - when an individual wishes to do something out of control, not in an attitude of making any right settlement with respect to the right opportunity. Anyway, usually it might be similar to the drug addiction or some sort of gluttony and, surely, may be alcohol as well, when it's associated with the gambling field. It could be the severe trouble when talking about the gamblers.

It is true that it's pretty hard to find the cure for this addiction. According to a broad review and many other activities made on the same aspect, the individual that has these types of experiences - wins the game without any trouble, gains money again and again and could earn more and more money without confronting much difficulties during the game - is the main suspect to opt this kind of addictive activity, which is always playing in the gambling field.

This addiction might become so destructing that it might take a form of a type of dent incident for any gambler that is addicted to gambling. If that happens, winning or losing the gamble will not be the issue then. Whatever the player will achieve, the addiction for the game will continue on prospering. If the addicted lost in Blackjack once, they will continue on playing, until they win. Thinking about them winning money again and again, for example, in Blackjack, makes the gambler addictive, and makes the mind to not think of anything else. This makes the gambler to gamble and play at any chance. Such a player sells their personal things, such as clothing, and also manages some other sorts of illegal activities as well in order to have finances for gambling. A lot of thoughts similar to hopelessness or suicide could arise as well.

Many therapies and of course treatments for the gambling addicted are set to run fairly successfully. The treatment for the same is a great YES today. The psychotherapy takes a very significant place while caring about addicted within a group. The consequence for the treatment is only recognized when the person is completely recovered accommodating the entire process in a settled time period.

Tommy Hyland

Tommy Hyland - Blackjack Hall of Fame

Tommy started playing blackjack professionally in 1978 while still in college. That was also the year he started his first informal "team." He's never looked back. For more than twenty-five years, he has been running the longest-lasting and most successful blackjack team in the history of the game. He and his teammates have played in casinos all over the U.S., Canada, and the world.

He has used big player techniques, concealed computers (when they were legal), and had one of the most successful "ace location" teams ever. He has personally been barred, back-roomed, hand-cuffed, arrested, and even threatened with murder at gun-point by a casino owner he had beaten at the tables. Every year, the Hyland team players take millions of dollars out of the casinos. And even though Tommy has had his name and photo published in the notorious Griffin books more times than any other player in history, he continues to play and beat the games wherever legal blackjack games are offered. He has also fought for players' rights by battling the casinos in the courts.

Despite his fearsome reputation, Tommy is polite, soft-spoken, and always a gentleman. He is as loved by players as he is feared by the casinos. In an interview conducted by Richard Munchkin in 2001, Tommy said, "If someone told me I could make $10 million a year working for a casino, I wouldn't even consider it. It wouldn't take me five minutes to turn it down ... I don't like casinos. I don't like how they ruin people's lives. I don't think the employment they provide is a worthwhile thing for those people. They're taking people that could be contributing to society and making them do a job that has no redeeming social value."

Max Rubin - Blackjack Hall Of Fame

Max Rubin - Blackjack Hall of Fame

Max is the author of Comp City, first published in 1994, with an expanded second edition published in 2002. In this groundbreaking book, Max exposed techniques even non-counting players could use to get an advantage over the casinos using weaknesses in the casinos' comp systems. This information came from his years of experience in the industry as a dealer, pit boss, and casino manager. Max still does consulting work for the Barona Casino in California.

The initial manuscript for Comp City included advanced comp-hustling techniques that could be used by professional card counters, but the editors at Huntington Press prefered to remove this section from the book in order to appeal to the wider market of recreational players. These excluded portions were published later in Blackjack Forum in June 1994, and you can easily find it online.

At that time, he started hosting the Blackjack Ball, a secret annual event for professional players, where he serves as Game Master as many of the top pros compete for the Blackjack Cup and the title of World's Best Blackjack Player.

Now, as a host of the Game Show Network's World Series of Blackjack, Rubin has become one of the most visible public advocates of professional players.

Different between Hacker and Cracker

Hacker

Hacker was someone or several people that carried out the activity hacking (the piercing/forced entered). They carried out the piercing against password and security the network From the two definitions above, then we could attract the conclusion: The Hacker equality and Cracker: Together carried out the activity of the infiltration towards the network.

Both of them tried to get access towards all user in this network. The Hacker difference and Cracker:

1. Cracker usually aims at carrying out destruction, for example to change the user's data, spread the virus, removed the data, in fact changed appearance the site (defacing) .Cracker had connotations negative compared with Hacker.

2. Hacker usually only penetrated in the network and informed that there is the weakness in the network that has succeeded in being penetrated by him this, so that more could be completed again.

Importance Of Proper Evaluation Before Data Recovery

Aware of the importance of lost time, data recovery experts immediately begin working, upon receiving the hard disk. The process of recovery begins by an evaluation of the device to determine if it was a physical or logical problem that led to the loss. The extent of disk damage is assessed and probable recovery rates are ascertained. This basic examination of the data storage device is called an evaluation of the media.

The entire process of hard drive evaluation ranges between 15 minutes to 48 hours, at times even more, for many variable factors determine the time taken. If the logical structure of the drive is damaged, or if the drive has developed logical and physical problems simultaneously, it might take more time to perform an assessment. Regardless of the time taken, such preliminary investigation is important, for it helps evaluate whether recovering data is worth the effort and cost.

Process of Evaluation

The process of evaluation commences only after data recovery experts scan the details you have provided in the questionnaire. The specifications pertaining to the storage capacity of your hard drive, the partition size in GB, the availability of antivirus software in your personal computer (pc), and similar such information is vital. The column that requires a brief synopsis of the accident which led to this situation is also important information.

Many pc owners often disregard the questionnaire, but the provided information helps the data recovery expert perform a better job on evaluation. Armed with the facts provided by you, the professional opens your hard disk in a class 100 clean room and begins a methodical work on your drive.

The technician first ascertains the nature of damage done to your data storage media. If the disk is physically damaged, the required parts are selected from the huge inventory they have. If matching parts are unavailable, the vendor is contacted for the requisite supply. If your drive is extensively damaged, and has developed both logical and physical problems, the evaluation process turns complex and necessitates the combined effort of many technicians.

After the problem appraisal, a sector by sector mirror image of your hard drive is made. The data structure is then analysed. These are complicated jobs, necessitating many hours of extensive work. Such comprehensive analysis enables the professionals estimate the quantum of data that can be recovered and the cost it entails. Data recovery is a complicated job and the pre-performance of the appraisal work ensures successful retrieval.

Free Evaluation

Performing an evaluation of your damaged hard disk is neither simple nor cheap. It is an expensive process that demands not only the usage of class 100 clean rooms but also of pricey and sophisticated tools. Such expertise comes for a price and if a data recovery company charges for an evaluation, they are justified in doing so. A few data recovery companies do not charge an evaluation fee, but they collect a cancellation fee, if you decide against recovering your data.

Those who offer free evaluation and charge no cancellation fee are too good to be true. You should not hand over your storage device to such service providers. Data storage media evaluation is an expensive process and genuine companies charge appropriately and perform proper appraisal for it is necessary for further progress of the work.

Importance of Disk Evaluation

This thorough and comprehensive analysis of your hard disk will state the condition of your files and directories (if accessible) and recommend the mode of recovery and the recovery cost and time.

Such information is necessary for both the service provider and the client. This enables the data recovery professionals to analyse to what extent the data can be recovered. This also capacitates them to inform you of the probable cost of recovery and the turnaround time. Based on this report, you can make a decision on whether to go ahead with data retrieval or to reconstruct lost data.

Assessment of your damaged data storage device is thus very important. Generally, reputed data recovery companies charge for the data recovery as per the estimated charges. Some companies quote low and charge high. Once you are given the evaluation report, compare and contrast it with that of other data recovery service providers to prevent yourself from getting short-changed.

Killing Your System Softly - How Spyware Can Crash Your PC

A spyware is a harmful program that is designed to silently collect information or manipulate processes in your system. It can ruin your PCs in many ways than you can imagine because it can snoop and disclose all the data that comes in and out of your computers. Spywares come in many variants from a wide variety of sources.

You can get them by clicking a malicious advertisement where spywares are embedded, you can also get them from executable files requiring you to install additional applications that will actually monitor your browsing activity until it eventually secures a copy of all your online transactions, your passwords and your accounts before you even know it. Spywares can also add buttons or links in your web browser, and it often accounts for unexplained processes running in the background when you check your Task Manager. Spywares can also fill your system with trash: nonsense ads, obscene websites, and false products; name it, you can have it with spywares.Watch out for symptoms of a spyware attack such as slow PC right on startup. An accumulation of computer garbage can clog your network with additional running processes that can really make your computer sluggish and idle. A noticeable change in the appearance of your web browsers is another thing to look out for. A PC that is attacked by a spyware has additional buttons and toolbars that you might not remember installing. Actually, you never installed them; spywares did this and there's more to come until it succeeds in destroying your entire system. Spywares can really annoy you with excessive pop-ups and ads that can even crash your computers and clicking more of this kind can worsen the problem.

There are many ways to prevent spyware attacks. First, enable Firewall settings that can help you filter out malicious programs and processes that can harm your system. Also, hike up your browsing security by checking your Internet settings. You can choose a tighter security setting that will keep you away from harmful websites or unsecured downloads. Also, install anti-spyware software and update it regularly. If you happen to have a bad memory, opt for an antivirus that automatically updates itself once the computer is connected to the Internet. This will secure you an updated version of the antivirus to keep you protected. Also, be careful with which sites to download. Establish trusted zones and download programs and applications from other websites sparingly. Lastly, remember this golden rule: Read before you click.

How Spyware Can Threaten Your PCs With a Single Click

Welcome to the world of the unprotected, vulnerable computer systems that have not installed any kind of antivirus nor set up any firewall. Browsing the Web without any of these programs on is like skydiving without a parachute.

On the sample scenario stated above, the user is undoubtedly attacked by the so-called spyware, a computer program that is responsible for unexplained installation of additional programs in your web browser, or sudden computer crashes. These spywares commonly bundle themselves in executable files that come with your downloaded freeware, usually prompting the user to install an add-on that is claimed to be a requirement in making your program run properly. Spywares can also be acquired from malicious websites that offer videos, games or other applications for free by just clicking download links that are actually embedded with spywares that can penetrate your system's processes, making your computer prone to hacking attacks, sudden PC crashes and even system corruption. All of these can happen in a very short period of time, so make sure that you are protected against these harmful spywares.
What can spywares do in your system? They can monitor your computer's processes without your knowledge and can send this information in the Internet. They can also independently install additional services that you thought would be useful, but the truth is, it will only lead you to a larger nursery of viruses waiting to be clicked while they hide themselves in freebies and discounts that unwary surfers would bite in. They can also hack your passwords, financial accounts, club memberships and even your local disk drive contents, depending on the severity of the attack. Spywares can also make your computer sluggish as it slows down other programs working against their hidden processes that share with your RAM.

They also redirect internet browsing to another website, or launch pop-ups that can direct you to your system's grave-an overdose of viruses cannot be tolerated by your system, so the last resort is to reformat your disk, thereby causing you to lose your files and applications just because of this tricky attacker on the leash. Preventing these attacks is actually simple. If you make it a habit to monitor your system's performance and be cautious with the content of what you download in the Web, you will never get into trouble with these spywares. Also, keep an antivirus or anti-spyware running and update them regularly. Enable firewall protections offered by your operating system. Most importantly, be vigilant and cautious in surfing websites that arouse suspicion, they can pose a very serious danger to your computer if you don't watch out for them.

From PC to the Router Or Router to the Modem?

Two main kinds of CAT5 cables exist. One is the CAT5 crossover cable, which is used to connect two of the same devices, such as PC-to-PC. The CAT5 straight cable, on the other hand, is used for normal network connections.

That is, they are used for connections such as PC-to-router. The main difference is that in a crossover cable, the wires are crossed over or overlapping. In a CAT5 straight cable, the wires simply go straight through the cable. They can support data transmission in excess of 100 megabits per second, but have trouble with gigabit per second data transmission.Using a CAT5 straight cable means that the data being transmitted will go through different devices. They are called straight because of the wiring on the inside of the cable. Pin 1 on one end goes to pin 1 on the other, and the same for the other pins. This way, the data is only transmitted one direction at a time, so it does not overlap. Connecting a computer to a router or hub will require a straight cable, as would connecting a router to a modem.

Like other CAT5 cables, these cables can only transmit data reliably at speeds under one gigabit per second. Unlike the old CAT3 cables, a CAT5 straight cable is capable of transmitting data at over 100 megabits per second. Networking with a straight cable is designed to send information one way at a time. This helps make sure that data is not lost. A crossover cable is used for two-way data transmission, but only between two of the same devices, such as router-to-router.

Unfortunately these cables do have trouble when trying to transmit too much data at the same time. If a CAT5 straight cable is used to try to transmit data at speeds in excess of one gigabit per second, it will not work very well. The more recent CAT6 cables are designed to work with gigabit per second speeds. A straight through CAT5 cable can be of almost any length, but they are usually short because the distances required for the connections are typically not very far.

A CAT5 straight cable has the wiring go straight through without overlapping like a crossover cable has. This means that data can only be transmitted one way at a time. Therefore, it is used for connections like PC-to-router instead of PC-to-PC, which is what a crossover cable is used for. Like other CAT5 cables, it can support speeds up to one gigabit per second, but has trouble with the highest speed.
