Increasing the Modem Timeout

Had you experienced the modem that timeout period problem ?


If your modem it is timing out during file transfers or loading Web Pages, you might try increasing the timeout period.

Here the steps to change the Time Out :

1.Open RegEdit
2.Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\ Services\ Class\ Modem\ XXXX\ Settings Where XXXX is the number of your modem

3. In the right panel and double click on Inactivity Timeout

4.The number of minutes for a timeout should be entered between the brackets.

5.Ex : a setting could have S19=<10> to set it to 10 minutes.
